For mail forwarding, the US Postal Service will do that for a fee. The only catch (besides the fee) is that you have to use the same address for at least 2 weeks at a time. We've had mail forwarded to General Delivery a couple of times successfully. Using the Premium Forwarding Service costs an upfront fee of $13.95/week (ouch!) plus a one-time registration fee, but I don't know how much it is now. Sadly, these fees have gone up every year we've done this. Last year it was $11/week, which I thought was pretty bad (a dollar more than the year before), but when I went in to have it stopped after we got back to homebase last week, the clerk told me it had gone up nearly $2. Makes you wonder why the post office is going broke, doesn't it? However, this service is pretty good, since I just phone our home post office whenever we move to a new location, give them the address and they take care of it. Everything we get by mail is packaged up in a priority mail envelope and gets to us usually within 3 or 4 days.

You can use a cheaper forwarding service, but it takes longer to get to you, and they only forward first class mail, not everything. For more information see the "forwarding" section at http://usps.com

I don't have much information about finding work on the road, but there's a blog about that at http://rv.net (among other topics).

Good luck, and happy trails!
Thank You for the info, I have been researching these sites all week. Very informitive.
We joined workamper.com to find jobs. They are geared towards RV'ers and list hundreds of jobs.

For handling mail we joined the Escapee's club. They provide a mail service as well as a lot of other services for RV'ers. And you can use the club to establish residency in Texas.

There are many books available, here's a link to a good source for these types of products.

And if your interested in seeing some actual cost figure's that you can use to "guesstimate" your costs out on the road, I highly recommend Howard's RV-Dreams site.
We full time in our coach. There are books and tons of websites on the subject. I maintain http://www.fulltimeRV.us and from there you can find information and links to various resources.
