You might have to find someone who can customize something for you. We met a lady in Albuquerque who was in a wheelchair, and she told us that's what she'd done. You might also need a lift to get the chair in and out the door. It would probably also be good to get one of the newer coaches that "kneels" (lowers the whole coach when parked using deflatable airbag suspension) so you don't have so far to heist the chair to get in and out. Sorry I don't know of any specific models that could accomodate this, but maybe Google would help? Or ask someone at http://rv.net.

Good luck!

Greetings Ed- back in the 90's I worked several years for a Spitler Vehicle Specialties 1-570-368-1771 (they are an RV, limo, hearse and ambulance dealer in Pennsylvania). While I was working there, an older couple (she had amputated legs and was wheel chair bound) sold their home, bought a large Class A Winnie and had us gut it, customized it and put in a large door on the passenger right rear with a wheel chair lift. When we were finished with the coach, everything (shower, toilet all appliances, etc.) were made easily accessable for her. We even rigged it with hand controls so she could drive the coach. Their children were scattered all over the US, and he was retired military. About a month ago I saw an ad in a local sales rag called "Paper Shop" I think it is the same coach, was listed for sale. The ad reads as follows: '96 Winnebago Adventurer, 34' 72K-mi., 460 Ford 7.5L. EFI V8 gas engine, auto. w/OD, cooler, drivers door, 2-roof AC, microwave, refrig./freezer. stove/oven, Power Boost antenna, back-up camera, PM, tow hitch, smoke detector, HWH auto, level jacks, dinette, 19" color RV/VCR, cable, satelite ready, full size sofa, queen bed, exterior entertainment center, large rear wardrobe, elec. step never used, awning, 5500KW generator, cruise control, hadicap wheelchari lifr, well maintained, 6-new tires..... $17,500 570-226-4501 Days or 570-775-7605 Eves. Maybe this is still for sale, maybe this is your answer. Good Luck, hope it helped. Ann
Ed, I've been told you can talk with the manufacturer of the type of RV you are looking to buy; many companies will help you design one which will handle a wheelchair. A friend of mine has a class B which has the loading ramp and hand controls. She bought it just a few years ago but she will only trade it if a better unit comes along. Good luck on your search. RV doors are manufactured by Elixir Industries and they have nationwide distribution .
http://www.elixirind.com/ They have the potential of building any size door you may need. The problem here is that your coach is probably NOT equipped for it's installation, and that could mean a major rebuild literally from the floor up. If this is something you want to do on your own you'd better be prepared for it now
