It kind of depends on the window. Double-pane is not Thermo-pane Most of the time Thermo-pane windows have Argon-gas in them and it's inert, so it will fail, and when the seals fail it's usually just humidity seeping in through the seal failure. There is no way to clear it out, it has to be replaced and it's generally not worth it (depending on how much cold you get into). An argon thermopane window is only good for about 5 years and in an RV it'l be shorter then that because of vibration. Now, LOW E is another story, It's a coating on the inside of the glass that knocks out UV, and it doesn't "fail", but the truth is any double pane window has the potential for failure. The question to be asked is what is a double pane window giving you? They're quieter, for sure, and they will reflect heat. But I've had just as good a luck with mirror film on my single panes and I've never had to replace one. Admitted, I'm in Texas , so cold isn't an issue.
thanks for the reply, but it is a cold thing also here in THE WINDY CITY, lol i like camping in later monthes also would there be a big temp, difference? i guess it would be the same as a home window, oh well i'll keep looking, thanks
