I need a braking system for a van we will be towing and have seen both pros and cons about proportionate and non proportionate braking systems. Roadmaster and Blue Ox are the ones that I've looked at. Which one is best for towing up and down steep grades? We travel a lot through the Rocky Mountains.

Any opinions or suggestions? Thanks.

try SMI.com They have 2 for diesel and gas
I agree , buy a SMI. about same money, much simpler to hook up . no big clumsy box to put away when reaching destination ,or when planing to use tow car. I have a Brake buddy, it is OK but , it is room for improvement.
We decided on a Brake Buddy. It seems to work fine. It's just hard to tell how well it's working and deciding on how much brake pressure to put on it. Since our tow van is power brakes, with the motor not running, the brakes won't have much of an effect without some serious pressure. We have it set at the midpoint, but I can't tell much difference in braking. Oh well, at least we're legal now....
