We just bought a 26' TT 2 years ago, we only been 60 miles away from home. Husband doesn't want to travel any further due to gasoline prices. So we go out to the coast quite a bit.

How about the rest of you?

If you are a FullTimer you are NEVER far from home! :)
I've seen lots of articles on "staycations" due to rising gas prices. Try googling that term and see what comes up. Maybe there'll be some articles on your part of the country.
I too have been staying close to home here in TN.even cancelled a few trips to MI. to see family where I grew up. will have to make those trips with just the car later, So we have been pulling the pontoon behind the class C Rv and going to campgrounds and boating, also have been pulling the yamaha rhino and doing some four wheeelin in the mountains, you can find alot close to home here in TN. next adventure will probably be due east to see the ocean and will cost about 150.00 one way i'm guessing. The higher gas goes the closer I will stay without giving up my RV, so close your eyes and pretend you went across the U.S. Happy Camping!, Gary
what part in tn. are you im on the tn. river ...........bc
i have a 25 HR TT. i go 7 mi. from home. we have a state pk. i camp 15ft. from the water. on the tn. river, you can watch the barges go by. my lady friend who went camping with me most of the time got killed in a car ............so i did'nt go camping this year. ill be back at it next year.. and i live overlooking the tn. river. my neighbors think im crazy but thats ok...........i will camp till im to old to go....... bc
I'M sorry to hear of your lady friend, I'm in Oliver Springs by Oakridge, I have drove across the TN, river many times and said to my lady friend "I WANT TO TAKE THE PONTOON DOWN THERE" from the road it looks like some very upscale homes in the 6 figure range. Would be nice to cruise and look at. Let me know the campground you speak of and maybe i will check it out. thanks,Gary
nathen bedford forest campground . i also like being close to my firewood , we get a 9 cubic yard dump truck load for 75.00 last years price. bc
My family and I have a class C motorhome. The furthest we travel is about 3 hrs. There are just so many campgrounds in my area, especially Lancaster. I am very content at this point in my life just traveling close to home. Later on down the road after the kids are graduated I would like to travel to different states. I just love being outdoors, this is a cheap and fun way to vacation a couple weekends a month.
We go anyway, still cheaper than paying hotel bills and eating out for a weekend or week. We're in Florida and have a 24' TT for almost 2 years, and we have been to North GA, Lafayette, LA plus all over Florida. And it is a TRAVEL trailer !! LOL.
