pottable water pump not working!

Hello, if I fill up my water tank and turn on water pump nothing comes out spicketbut pump continully runs.. was working fine motor sounds good not like the impeller is stuck, normally i turn it on and it stays off till a faucet is turned on or toilet is flushed then it will shut off again, i really need this for primitive camping anyone have any idea's before i start taking pipes apart? thanks! WATER PUMP IS BACK IN WORKING ORDER! It was ran dry last trip. and was just a matter of getting all the AIR out of everything,hotwater heater was probably the problem and the fact that it was the first time used from previous owners and could have been full of anything in bottom of tank,now a little bleach and drain tank a few times and were ready to go! thanks everyone for your help,Gary

Not sure where next trip will be,I will be going deer hunting as soon as i find some decent property to hunt by myself, buddies always seem to have something come up at last miniute,lol these east TN. mountains by me got hit hard by that blue tongue last year and there is not many deer to begin with,I'm used to michigan at least you see deer even if you don't get a shot, I have managed to put one in the freezer every year since I was 16 yrs. old and i'm not going to stop now even if I have to pull off the road and hunt state land and camp, whats your next adventure? no adventure untill next year. right now i looking for lamb , for a small meat market i don't think he will make it. but im trying to help anyway. also i spent 44years in mi . there are lots of deer over here..........and lots of places to camp. dont know where to hunt , as i dont anymore last time i went deer hunting was 1983 got 2 in mi.bc.
