My RVer

THE Social Network for the RV Lifestyle

Greetings everyone. We are in the processes of selling 90% of our belongings (what we can't sell, we will donate or trash), trying to sell our home and get what little equity we can for it. Do to the economy and health issues we are turning toward this lifestyle of full time RVing. I lived in a travel trailer for almost a year long long ago and a tent for 3 months in AZ. My husband was in the army and travelled extensively. Our only son is in Iraq. We are waiting for SSI/SSD, if we can't sell our home it will eventually be foreclosed upon. We are quite sure we are not alone in this situation. We are keeping a bright outlook. Looking forward to being gypsies, with no time schedule, warmer weather and nothing to tie us to one place. At the present time: selling everything seems very overwhelming, but we need to get as much money as we can so we can afford to buy an older class A to live in. We plan on getting an enclosed trailer to haul our old harley with us. We have 2 cats and alot of things we want to see. Looking forward to a better tomorrow. Keep smiling!

As luck would have it, my father- and mother-in-law have a really great 28' Allegro Bay (1993) with just 29,000
miles on it they are considering selling. If interested let us know...they're in Oklahoma City near Tinker AFB.
Keep smiling...these things work out.
Greetings Jim and Susan. Thank you for acknowledging us. The coach sounds wonderful, however I am sad to say it is probably not within our limited means. We have less than 6K to work with (after I sell my antique jeepster and our possessions). Ebay searches and bids at this point have been fruitless, but we must keep plugging along. If we could sell our home for the appraised amount, it would give us an extra 8K, but the market is not good here in PA (no jobs) and if we hire a realitor they take 5K off the top (which only gives us 3K left over). But, we are not giving up. We are the mouse against the eagle in the last great act of defiance LOL. Do you full time RV?
Hi Ann & Don,

I am not in the same boat as you are, but I am gong through an Ilness, I have Metastic Carcinoid Cancer, and I have had most of my colon removed, and I am thankful for everyday that I awaken. I say this to say to you that all we have is one day at a time and if you have faith and believe you will make it. I love the RV lifestyle and sometimes less is better I have learned that it dosen't matter what I have as long as I have the one person that loves me and stays by my side thru thick and thin, we can whether any storm, and material things don't matter, you can't take them with you. God Bless you and I will be praying for you and I know that you all are going to be alright, just look up for your answers and keep an open ear so that you can hear them.
Thank you Beauford & Yovonne for your inspirational insight. We aren't ready to give in or give up yet, either. We also agree less is more, and the time we can spend together is worth more than any material objects there are. Bless you also.
Dear Ron- Thanks for writting back. And thank you for the tire info, some others might need that information too. We were told about every five years to replace tires. Luckly, my husband and I were both mechanics, he was also an electrician, plumber and carpenter, so he knows enough to check the production date which is imprinted on all tires. He has 3 ruptured discs in his lumbar and arthritis, I have a muscle disease, arthritis and numerous other health issues, but not enough to keep us house bound. Yes we have an attorney, we are on round 4 of appeals process. I have been fighting since Aug of 07 and he from Spring of 08, we both worked very hard for what little we have, and the gov't acts like it is their money and they would rather see people dead so they don't have to pay it back to them, we aren't ready to give up yet. Our moving sale starts a week from tomorrow, we are keeping our fingers crossed that we can get enough to get a motorhome. Sorry to hear your stuck in Colorado till spring, keep warm and keep in touch. Ann and Don
Ron- It is nice to know someone else has been through the BS, too. You understand the concept well. We are not exactally what some would call the religious norm either, but we do believe in a higher power. And we also will keep you in mind along with the many others who are suffering at the hands of the few that are in power of our materialistic world. Keep in touch. Our computer is ancient and at the moment we have dial up and we get disconnected a lot due to our circa 1950 phone system we have in the northern appalachians of Pennsylvania. When we get on the road, we will be able to have wi-fi service some places, our son (in Iraq) gave us a nice lap top that he had an arguement with and we had to have it repaired, but it will be more than adiquate for when we hit the road. Until then, we will continue to use this antiquated piece of equipment that I think Alexander Graham Bell discarded. LOL - Ann and Don
Ron-got to go for the evening. It will be 8 soon and Don found and old movie for us to watch that comes on at 8. I wish I could figure out if this site has instant message. It takes about 30 seconds to 5 minutes just to change a page. Don made supper and it was very good and filling, he does most of the cooking (his taste better) the only things I can make and not screw up are anything with potatoes and wild game. Hope to talk tomorrow again. We have to run to town in the morning for supplies (town is an hour away from where we live). Then in the afternoon, I have several people coming for readings (I give Tarot readings upon request, in person only). No - we do not worship the devil. I come from a long line of gifted seers, each with their own talents. No, I can not see my own future, nor do I wish to. I usually only do readings for charities. My husband and I are motorcyclist, book readers, movie watchers, historians and I play 12 string dreadnaught guitar. I am also a bit of an artist and seamstress. We really need to get out on that road, we are stagnet and suffocating, we want to see things and meet new people, and spend as much time as we can together. We wish you well and good evening. Ann & Don
Hi Anne & Don,

My name is Joe Bruno. I started a company called the RV Buyers Advocate in ealry 2008 After working for Lazy Days in Tampa. I purchased my Monaco Executive coach from them and after my touring was up, I went to work for them. At this time I am buried up to my ears in motor home debt. I can not afford to sell it. I started my business to help people keep from getting into the situation I am in and have slowly become self sufficiant on this business and playing music. Normally, the coaches I deal with are more than $100k and can be bought way below wholesale and driven around for next to nothing for a year or two. There are opportunities for those of us in your shoes. Since you are close to forclosure you need to take advantage of time right now before you have less choices. I am helping some coach owners find a newer coach and may have one that will fit your budget. One in particular is a 38' 1996 American Tradition Diesel Pusher with about 75k miles. It is in California. and maybe can be purchased for around $30k so it's owner can move up to a newer Eagle. I will have to check with him if you are interested.

Another option is to take over payments on a coach. There are companies who will take a big deposit which they keep and will find a coach for you. I can help find a coach where your deposit goes to pay the principle down. My number is 941-924-3979

God bless

Joe Bruno

Dear Joe- Thanks for your concern but $30K is out of our league, and our credit was destroyed by AIG Insurance that we had on our mortgage when I became ill. It took AIG 8 months to pay our mortgage and seeing my husbands name was on the mortgage also, it too ruined his credit. Then we had a mishap of sorts, someone established a business using our home address (ID theft) and our mail box is a mile (at the end of our driveway) from our home and out of sight, this too went against our credit. We contacted the state police and they said there was nothing they could do, so we contacted several lawyers who all told us the same thing. It would cost us about $35K to clean up our credit, the best suggestion they could give us, was to wait it out till we got our back SSD funds, sell our home, buy a coach, than file for bankruptcy. Besides, we want freedom from a mortgage and property taxes. We don't have any credit cards and haven't had any in almost 10 years. We haven't had any vehicle payments in over 10 years and have no desire to. Thank you anyway. Ann
