Ok, here we go kids.
Tis Christmass time again. This year we are taking our truck camper to New Mexico to see family.
Our rig is a 2001 F-350 Super Duty with a 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel, slid in the box is a 2005 Alpenlite Sante Fe 1100. Dang, that's a mouthfull! It is attached to the vehicle with Tork-Lift frame mounts and Fast Gun tiedowns. I have a Superhitch on the stern for pulling a trailer when we do car shows.
I just ordered a set of Supersprings for it, I'll let you know how that works out. The camper weighs 3700 lbs. dry, even with a dually, it was still interesting coming down from Tennessee with it. Could be because a friend of mine and myself did the trip there and back in twenty four hours. Also, he is a terrible driver, can't see and yanks a vehicle side to side, which is a real treat with a top heavy truck camper! Hence the Supersprings.
Driving the thing out to New Mexico ought to be fun, wife and three kids. I think I will leave the dog home this trip! Wet dog "aroma" won't go over real well in a crowded truck! I bet most of you travel with your dog or other pet. Our's is a Pit Bull who's name is Pete. The Love Sponge. Don't believe the crap about Pits being mean and aggressive! He is very loyal and loves everyone. So much for a watch dog, I don't think he has ever met a stranger. And he looks cool sitting by our Rat Rod show car and grocery getter.
Big question or two,
How do ya keep all the fluids in the tanks and lines from freezing on a trip a mile above sea level, while driving in winter?
I can see plugging a small heater in so as not to use so much propane, but which little heater works best and is the safest in a space like this?
Any free wintertime camping spots on the north side of Dallas? Nice places?
Can I run my generator safely while driving at 65, or will the exhaust gasses fill up the camper from the low pressure area that is the back of something like this?
The genny exhaust is straight out the back below the bumper.
I think I will stick my Hitch hauler under the back on the hitch without the extension for baggage. I will make sure things are water proof!
If any one has any experience with this it would be appreciated!

Check out my comments on the Super Spring product on the main page!
Today is the day, the truck and camper are loaded up.
I'm just waiting on the kids to pack their cloths. Looks like Pete the dog will be staying home with his baby sitter. The first stop will be around Lafayette, La., I will have to check for a good spot to camp on the north side.
