Hi Ron-Glad to hear you're still with us. It is okay, sometimes I am unable to get on the computer for days, weeks at a time. Wish we were able to help with the tire thing. We think we found a coach, it also will need drive tires. Don found them locally here for $122 each, that is mounted not balanced (19.5's). We will know in about 2 weeks - when we will leave to go get the coach. It is a vintage Sportscoach, it sounds like it just needs tires, some minor cosmetic things and a speedo-cable. We'll know more when we get back home to work on it. At the present we live next door to my folks, my sister and brother moved away for work. My husband has no family left except his mom and she lives in town. I'm in worse shape than my parents :) My father is in his late 60's and still goes down hill skiing, horse riding, and all other kinds of active sports. I've got a busy day today, got to get things organized for the sale. Chat again soon. Ann and Don
Hi Ron-Glad to hear from you. Our sale is going well, we have enough now to pay for our coach, just need enough for the insurance which we should have hopefully with in the next 3 days. Then if we are able to sell our antique jeepster we will have enough to buy an enclosed tow behind trailer for our motorcycle. A gentleman stopped up yesturday and is bringing his wife back on monday or tuesday to see our house, he is really interested and has the money to buy it, we just have to wait and see what the wife says. Some where after the 27th of July we'll go pick up the coach, a good friend of ours will drive us up to get it, then he will follow us back just in case there are any problems, should only be a day trip (if all goes well). We are so happy that some of the pressure is finally leaving the shoulders. We found very little info on line about the older sportscoaches. The way they were constructed was commented as the "Sherman Tanks" of the RV world. And thanks to another couple we are close with, they have been providing us with meals and home made wine yesturday and today to help take (the edge) that part of the stress off. :) Chat with you soon. Thanks - Ann and Don
Sportscoachs are a rare item, so we have found out. They are a cousin of the travco. Samstoybox is a good website to see what they look like. Ours is a 33 footer and loaded with luxury. We still have some problems to work out, but things are progressing. Yes we will be full timing. We lost our health, lost our jobs, lost our income and soon (very soon) will loose our stick house, so the road bekons us. We keep trying to smile and look forward. At the moment we are having a problem with a valve on our propane tank, hopefully this will be the last major thing to fix other than purchasing some tires and a trailer. Sorry for taking so long to get back also. Hope all is well with you. Ann
Hi Ron - My bucket list consists of Slab City, Quartz site and a lot more. Won't happen this year, we just hope to get to Florida before the snow flies, but it doesn't look promising. Might have to winter over at a friends place near us. Tomorrow we take our old girl to get new tires, hopefully we will make it to town without a blow out. Keep your fingers crossed. Our buddy "Duck" is going to follow us to make sure we get there okay. Then we need to get it inspected. Hopefully that will be tomorrow too, depending on how long it takes them to replace all six tires on Budd rims. We are still trying to find a towable trailer for the bike and tools. There are plenty out there but not much within our price range. Talk with you later, take care of that arthritis, I know it hurts. Ann
We are exhausted, but thanks for asking. Hope all is well with you. We picked up our trailer today, rolling chassis (7 feet 5 inches wide, 16 feet plus 4 foot tongue, dual axle). Next project is to replace tires (205/75R14, easy to find in our area), install wiring and lights, then the floor. After that the walls, ramp and roof. Starting our estate sale this Saturday, hopefully will sell the rest of our things (need the money to work on the trailer (toad) to haul our bike and tools. The sale will run from the 12th to the 20th. Our internet and phone are being shut off on the 16th. The house is on the market with Century 21 as of next week, hopefully someone will buy it soon. I wish to be south before the snow flies. I will try to keep in touch via wi-fi occassionally from a neighbors house, after the phone and internet are disconnected. Chat soon. Take care of yourself - Ann & Don
Got the tires, everthing a-okay. Now we are working on enclosing our trailer. We found a really good rolling chassis. It will be big enough to haul what we need to haul behind our coach. I am suprised that we still have internet and telephone, they were to be disconnected a week ago. My friend told me it is a law (here in PA anyway) that they can not shut off your telephone service if you are disabled, due to 911 purposes, I suppose that it might be why we still have phone (and internet, because it is one in the same, through the same provider). Hope all is well with you. Chat later, take care, Ann
