Ken & Jane's Great Adventures
We started out taking short camping trips which soon expanded to longer trips. Our last great adventure was a month long trip to Glacier. We enjoyed stopping along the way to fish Clearwater River where Ken re-learned to fly fish (and broke his toe.) We loved it when we finally found Glacier National Park, and a lake near the Canadian border where only truck campers and tents could stay, (ROUGH ROAD).. We had the time of our lives in the nice inflatable kayak we bought on line.... and spin fished for native cutthroat trout. Jane of course caught the biggest one on her first cast the first time she ever tried it. You should have been there seeing us trying to land it. Ken hobbling waist deep in the lake with his broken toe and a net , and Jane keeping the tip up to the sound of Ken saying , DONT LOSE HIM!!!!! What fun...
This trip consisted of beautiful skies, Forest fires, casinos, and even being hauled out of our camper in nevada at a truck stop early in the morning by the nevada police , because of a haz-mat spill. YUP. had to walk through the desert, load up in a police van, and taken back to Winnamucca, watching our truck and camper disappear into the desert heat. thank god it was still there the next day.
We hope to make more friends here , that enjoy the RV life as we are learning to do.....we did not get as much time on the road this summer as we had some health problems.....can you say HAZ-MAT!!! HA! Ken is going to Florida for a liver transplant this September..We hope for more good times on the road , and to learn more about the RV life. we want to get a 5th wheel at some point and keep the camper for the rough places we 4 wheel into ,....WE love and enjoy nature....Life is good..

If you change to a "bumper pull" travel trailer, you'll be able to offset your height with a drop-stinger. You might even consider a toy hauler model as it may offer more options to your adventures. Martha and I have done them all, motorhome, camper, 5th wheel and trailer...each has their own merit.
Hope this helps...ask me more and I will try to respond as best I can.

Lance makes a good product and we have taken many in trade.
One thing I did want to tell you about your comment on trailers swaying is the secret to preventing that. A good sway-control/weight equalizer does the trick. Airstreams can be towed without one, we just brought a 22' International back from Albuquerque without one, but most people feel comfortable having that extra protection. Sometimes when traveling down the road at 80 mph you can hit some pretty severe dips that cause porposing. The extra gear offsets that.
Lots of choices and many different directions to go. Like I told you, Martha and I have virtually done them all...motorhome, 5th wheel, toy haulers, trailers, expandables and slide-in campers. I like dealing with manufacturers who take the time to build their stuff right and don't run for cover when a problem occurs. The more one doesn't have to have a unit in service means the more you can use it.
